Well, Apple has finally updated and release the new MacBook. This MacBook replaces the iBook which used the Power PC processor. The new MacBook has the new Intel processor inside.
The new lineup for the Apple Laptops are in these sizes:
1. 13 inch MacBook
2. 15 inch MacBook Pro
3. 17 inch MacBook Pro
Note: none of the new MacBooks or Pros come with modems any longer.
For those of you needing a modem, you will have to purchase the modem separately.
As most of you travelers know, most hotels, motels, coffee shops etc., usually have either an ethernet connection to the Internet in the room or a wireless connection so a modem is almost a thing of the past unless you are on dial-up at home.
The new lineup does include a wireless card for connecting to the Internet or networking along with Ethernet port, wireless Bluetooth, an iSight camera, and a remote for the Front Row software. All included.
I would be interested in hearing from anyone that has purchased one of these newer MacBooks or MacBook Pros....

Peter,
No, I haven't.
I don't have a full retail version (or any version) of Windows XP.
I don't even know of anyone with a full retail version.
I have been hoping someone here would try it out but I guess no one wants to be on the bleeding edge...

Joe,
I'll keep looking and asking around. I think a visit to the local Apple store is in order to see what they say about it all. They may be a little biased, as they should be, but it's a good place to start. I'm hoping they will have a working system with everthing installed so we can see both OS's working on one machine. Should be interesting.
I'll let you know if anything earth shattering develops.
