Dear Joe & Janet: Hi it's Kari from Illinois and now we live in Wisconsin. Sorry I never got back in touch, we have many storms and we lost all of our electrical equipment. So what a cute puppy does this mean our gus gus is gone, I'm sorry if he is, I still have a picture of him on my fridge.Well tired from the move but promise to keep in touch. I talk about you and think of you often. Kari View Photo Comment

My Husband (Mack McDonald) lived right there as a young adult and probably was surfing right next to you as he lived in Huntington beach at the "continetals" and still knows alot of old friends from that era of his life...He really cherishes that time of his life. :D View Photo Comment

I spent many hours cruising around Seal Beach on my 1948 Schwinn bicycle. This model had the springer front suspension. I still have this bike along with two other beach cruisers hanging up in the garage. View Photo Comment

1967 Volkswagen Squareback.
Many of you know that the best (early) years for Volkswagen and Porsche was 1967.
I am the second owner of this vehicle and I purchased this from "The Little Old Lady in Pasadena". Really....
She and her husband bought this car in Europe and used it in their travels. They brought this back with them on their trip home.
I paid $550 for this car with 29,300 miles on it.
I had it re-painted using the original Baltic Blue color.
Truly a fine Classic VW Squareback.

This is a 1963 European version of the Volkswagen Squareback.
These models were not imported commercially to the US until 1965.
Someone most likely brought this back from Europe themselves and then I purchased it.
I totally restored it and painted it myself to the original SeaBlau L-360 color. If you looked at it one way it looked green. If you looked at it another way it looked like a deep sea blue.
Note the European side marker lights.
When you parked the car European style, you would turn your turn signal to the left or right, whichever side of the car was facing the road, and the side marker light would stay on all night. Safety First...
Definitely a rare Classic VW Squareback.

Yep. That's the Sun, if you can see it through all the smoke.
We are probably going to have smokey conditions until the fall rains hit as the forest service says there is no way they can put all the fires out.

I was out grooming the fields today on my tractor and a friend of mine was flying around in his plane so he took some photos. The tractor is near the top of the tree in the top of the photo. You can see the grooming lines of the drags I am pulling to the left and the un-groomed area to the right. The flood left a lot of debris and silt. This photo was taken in 2006.
