The new Mac OS X 10.6 named Snow Leopard will be on sale this Friday August 28th.
Lots of changes under the hood and claimed as be faster than 10.5 Leopard.
You must have an Intel processor to be able to run Snow Leopard.
For you people that still own Power PC Macintosh computers, you won't be able to run this new version.
The new Snow Leopard is an upgrade for 10.5 Leopard users and cost $29.00
For those of you still running Tiger, you might consider upgrading now to the new Snow Leopard operating system. http://www.apple.com/macosx/specs.htmlspecs.html

I have been testing out 10.6 over the weekend on 2 of my computers.
I have not had any problems at all.
Important:
You need to find out if your printer is on the list of printers that will work with Snow Leopard 10.6 before installing.
Most printers will print but many of the all-in-one printers will not scan or fax until new drivers come out for that brand or printer.
My all-in-one HP printer will print but I cannot use the scanner or the fax at this time.
All the printer manufacturers are working on new drivers so be sure your printer is on the list before going ahead with the upgrade. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3669/kb/HT3669
There isn't a whole lot of difference between Leopard and Snow Leopard that any of us will see right from the start. Most everything that changed is not really viewable except I can see a definite speed increase for most everything especially Safari along with other Apple applications.
For those of you with older G3, G4 and G5 computers with PPC processors, you will not be able to install Snow Leopard as the computer must have the newer Intel processors.
If I find anything that might be giving me any problems I will report them here.
So far, So good except for being able to scan.

10.6.1 is now out along with some newer printer drivers.
I still don't have scanner drivers for my HP 2510 for scanning but it does print just fine. I am still waiting for the scanner or I may have to buy a new printer...
