Well, it's that time of season again. The last week brought several thunder and lightning storms which started a few fires. Now the smoke has filled the air and we can't see some of the surrounding mountains...

For you members, take a look at camera #2 and you will see the smokey skies....

Is the smoke coming from smaller fires around Scott Valley or the larger Elk Creek Complex fire in Happy Camp? I find scant information on the local fires. For periodic updates to the Happy Camp fire from the Forest Service go to http://www.inciweb.org/incident/800/

We have a fire going on in the Marble Mountains.
I also assume some of the smoke in coming from Happy Camp and the Yreka area.

The smoke has gotten a lot worse today as you can view the smoke in both Camera #1 and #2..
Take a look at this new photo I added.

Luckily for us the rain the other night cleared out the smoke and helped contain some of the fires.

The skies are clear today with a few clouds around. A beautiful day in the neighborhood....
